Merivale Family Oasis Client: Private Residence Delivered: 2021 Project Overview This large residential property in Merivale was developed to create a highly usable outdoor environment designed around recreation, entertaining, and everyday family life. The project involved shaping a large, open site into a series of connected landscape spaces while maintaining a cohesive overall design. Key elements of the build included a substantial patio and outdoor dining area, a timber deck, swimming pool, and expansive lawn areas suited to informal play and relaxation. A full-sized tennis court was also constructed on an adjoining section, significantly expanding the recreational capability of the property. Circulation across the site was supported through new driveway and parking areas, complemented by structured planting and garden beds that help organise the large landscape. Several bespoke features were incorporated throughout the project, including a restored children’s playhouse and a custom outdoor fireplace built on a polished in-situ concrete hearth. A concealed pool cover was integrated within the surrounding paving, allowing the pool area to maintain a clean, uninterrupted appearance when not in use. Indian sandstone was selected as the primary paving material, providing durability while complementing the natural tones of the surrounding garden. Spanning approximately 2050m², the scale of the site required careful coordination to ensure each outdoor zone worked together as part of a unified landscape. The finished project delivers a balanced mix of recreational and entertaining spaces, and was recognised with a Gold award at the Registered Master Landscapers Landscapes of Distinction Awards for residential construction.
