Family-friendly design meets award-winning quality
This project in Fendalton, Christchurch was designed for a young family building their new home. The client, a construction professional, wanted a functional outdoor space with a clean, timeless design and high-quality finishes throughout.
The site included several key elements: a custom-built outdoor entertaining area, plastered feature walls, honed and polished concrete work, inbuilt BBQ area, tiling, and a low-maintenance planting plan. A custom front gate was co-designed with the client, combining their copper cladding expertise with our construction detailing.
Challenges were found in delivering a refined design that still worked for everyday family life, while managing and resolving concerns from neighbours around the new build and boundary fencing. We addressed these issues early through clear communication and a collaborative approach, ensuring a positive outcome for everyone involved.
The project also required careful coordination with other trades onsite. Our team worked alongside them smoothly, ensuring no delays or disruptions. Stormwater was managed with a strip drain leading to a silt trap, and landscape lighting was installed to provide both function and atmosphere.
The job was completed without changes to the original scope or budget. The client was pleased with both the quality of the build and the way our team supported them after completion.
